People dress up in their best clothes and visit each others’ houses to drink a toast to the New Year. In Spain, when the clock strikes midnight, it is the custom to eat 12 grapes, one with every chime, to bring good luck for the 12 months ahead.

The desk has a lot of drawers where I keep my text-books, notes, pens, pencils and other necessary things. On the right there is a sofa and a built-in wardrobe. In the right corner there is a comfortable arm-chair.Beside it stands a lamp with blue shade.I like to turn on the lamp, sit in the arm-chair and read an interesting book.There are some shelves with books in my room.You can see Russian and English books there.There is a big thick carpet on the floor.There are some posters with my favourite singers on the wall.I like my room very much. В моей семье праздники играют важную роль. Начиная от Нового Года и заканчивая днями рождениями и годовщинами, мы дружно собираемся за праздничный стол и весело проводим время.
Из всех праздников, которые мы отмечаем моей семьей, мне нравится Новый год. Празднование Нового года традиция в нашей семье. Эти замечательные вечера я помню с раннего детства.
Все начинается задолго до нового года. В начале декабря мы украшаем дом и в 12-15 числах ставим елку. Это одно из моих самых любимых занятий.
Накануне нового года мы с моей сестрой помогаем маме в уборке дома, приготовке салатов, оформлении подарков.
Вечером, мы собираемся за большим праздничным столом и провожаем старый год.
В эти предновогодние часы мы разговариваем, смотрим новогодние фильмы.
В полночь, когда бьют куранты, мы загадываем желание и поздравляем друг друга.
Потом мы немного сидим за столом, и выходим на улицу. Там мы пускаем салют, катаемся с горки, играем в снежки, или просто гуляем.
Мне понравился прошлый новый год, когда к нам в 2 часа ночи пришли близкие люди, друзья и мы все вместе отмечали этот замечательный праздник. Мы тогда не ложились спать всю ночь, и лишь под утро заснули.
На следующий день мы посетили близких родственников и отметили новый год там.
Я очень люблю новый год, и в этом году у меня очень большие планы на него. Надеюсь, что все получится и этот новый год я запомню как самый лучший праздник в моей семье.
