я действительно не было времени написать письмо. У мамы было воспаление лёгких. Сейчас она уже чувствует себя хорошо. В школе мы начали учить немецкий язык, и думаю,что в следующем письме я смогу написать несколько слов по-немецки. Рената, ты написала мне о своей бабушке и спрашиваешь, есть ли у меня бабушка и дедушка и где и как они живут.

Мой дедушка умер 10 лет назад. А моя бабушка живёт в старом доме, нуждающемся в ремонте,недалеко от вокзала. Здесь она вырастила своих детей. Раньше во дворе были качели,стол для настольного тенниса и спортивная площадка. Жильцы знали друг друга, здоровались и обменивались новостями. С течением времени всё изменилось. Соседний дом недавно снесли. В бабушкином доме уже 10 лет ничего не делали. Говорят, его тоже должны снести. Многие жильцы уже переехали. С одной стороны, бабушка хочет переехать в новую квартиру со всеми удобствами, с другой стороны, она не может представить себе, что будет жить где-нибудь в другом месте. Я прихожу к бабушке каждую неделю, она любит рассказывать о своих детях, вспоминать прошлое. Если ты приедешь в Москву,мы обязательно к ней сходим. Дорогая Рената,передай всем от меня привет. caring person with good communication skills. Since my childhood I have wanted to be either a nursery school or primary school teacher. These careers require further study after Year 11. So I am taking A levels in English, drama and IT* at college. I also take part in the college events —this is something pos-itive that I can write in my CV together with my work experience. I helped in both a nursery and a primary school. I thought it would allow me to develop both my key skills and my personal qualities. I asked the people who I worked with what qualifications they had done. They talked to me about the good aid bad aspects of the job of a teacher and what they liked about it. It is hard work but it allows you to fee] personal achievement, to feel respect, besides the salary is good. I liked to belong to a team and my work helped me to improve my confidence and to get the skills that I need for higher education or employment. Now I plan to go on to higher education after college. But if I decide to cliaiige any career in the future, I am certain that neither my skills nor experience will be useless to me.

The Use of Leisure

By the way in which a man uses his leisure his character can be told more surely in all probability than by the way he does his work. For most men work is necessity in order to gain a living. Vast numbers of men have not even been able to choose what work they would do, but have been forced by economic necessity to take the first job that came their way. But in their leisure time they do what they really want to do and their real selves are reflected in their actions.

Some people are completely passive during leisure hours. If such people go out they go to some place of entertainment where no effort is required by them, a cinema or a dancing hall, and if the latter, they do not dance but simply sit and watch others dancing.

A different type of person hurries home from work full of eagerness to begin on some scheme which he has been planning for his leisure time. Perhaps his hobby is carpentry or model engineering, or gardening-, or he might wish to write, or to study some subject in which he is interested. .This is the creative type of character. For him, his leisure hours are full of promise and he can look back on them with satisfaction when he reviews what he has achieved in them.

Leisure should be refreshment; it should send a man out with fresh spirits to battle with the problems of life. Sometimes this freshness comes not from doing anything, but by filling one's mind with fresh springs of duty. Many a man gets full value from his leisure by contemplating nature, listening to music, or reading noble books. By this sort of occupation he may not have made anything that he can show, but he has none the less recreated his own source of inspiration and made his own mind a richer fuller treasure house. This is the true use of leisure.
