There was a railway station “Shymerlya”
in 1916. As it was rich with wood, a continental businessman was invited. In
the early 20’s there were only a few wooden houses in the village and children
were taught at home. The first school was opened in January 1921. In 1927 there
were about 240 residents, in 1930 there were almost 2309 residents. In 1937 the
working village became a city. In 1937 the school number 3 was opened and in
1940 – the school number 1. However, there still weren’t pavements, roads and
street lights.
