all the right questions. So how on earth do you find a house? Don’t panic: everyones in the same boat. You need to begin by making a list of what you want in a house. For instance, do you want a bath or will just a shower be OK? Do you want a washing machine( my advice-YES- launderettes are a nightmare and you cant afford to have things cleaned for you ). Are you OK with sharing a bathroom or do you want an en suite of your own? You also need to think about where your house is located- bus and train fares can add up to a lot of money.

Secondly, make sure you take with you a list of questions you want to ask. Will you have to pay the rest of the rent if the other rooms aren’t filled? How big is the deposit and will it be returned at the end of your rent? Is there a garden-are you responsible for it? Are the rooms lockable? Is the house in good condition? If the landlord promises to have things repaired, get his promises included in the contract.

There are also a few things you should look our for: what is included in the rent and how much are the extra bills? So if you’ve found a house for 40 a week ,but it doesn’t cover any bills-you aren’t going to save money, especially if the other rooms are empty

4. Ways of self - expression (what are the main kinds of identity, how do people show their identity, what ways do you use to express yourself)
5. Subcultures (what makes people join subcultures, what are their main reasons, do you belong to any subculture or do you know someone who does, what’s your attitude to subcultures, give your reasons for or against)
6. Body language (what are the signs of good and bad body language, what are the differences around the world, how to detect different emotions with the help of body language, how to look confident) SB p. 30-32
7. Traditions (what a tradition is, kinds of traditions – family, national, religious etc. , why do people keep traditions, do we need all of the traditions, why/why not)
8. Celebrations (what are the main festivals in our country, do you celebrate them, what are your favourite celebrations, why, do we need all of festivals and holidays, which might be excepted)
9. Family and national traditions (give some examples of national and family traditions, does your family have any special way of celebrating, do you often gather and have family meals, what’s more important, to keep your family or national traditions, why)
10. Materialistic world (who a materialistic person is, are modern people materialistic, what makes them materialistic, are you materialistic, why/why not)
11. Poverty (main causes of poverty, main effects, your attitude to poverty, can we solve the problem of poverty)
12. Money and successes (who can be called a successful person, what does a person need to be successful, does money always bring happiness and success)
13. Family (what a family is, main kinds of family, why do people need family)

Of all my relatives, I like my Aunt Emily the best. She's my mother's youngest sister. She has never married, and she lives alone in a small village near Bath. She's in her late fifties, but she's still quite young in spirit. She has a fair complexion, thick brown hair which she wears in a bun, and dark brown eyes. She has a kind face, and when you meet her, the first thing you notice is her lovely, warm smile. Her face is a little wrinkled now, but I think she is still rather attractive. She is the sort of person you can always go to if you have a problem.She likes reading and gardening, and she goes for long walks over the hills with her dog, Buster. She's a very active person. Either she's making something, or mending something, or doing something to help others. She does the shopping for some of the old people in the village. She's extremely generous, bur not very tolerant with people who don't agree with her. I hope that I am as happy and 18contented as she is when I’m her age

To impose anything by authority is wrong. Obedience must come from within —not be imposed from without. The problem child is the child who is pressured into obedience and persuaded through fear. Fear сад be a terrible thing in a child’s life. Fear must be entirely eliminated — fear of adults, fear of punishment, fear of disapproval. Only hate can flourish in the atmosphere of fear. The happiest homes are those in which the parents are frankly honest with their children without moralizing. Fear does not enter these homes. Father and son are pals. Love can thrive. In other homes love is crushed by fear. Pretentious dignity and demanded respect hold love aloof. Compelled respect always implies fear. The happiness and well-being of children depend on a degree of love £md approval we give them. We must be on the child’s side. Being oil the side of the child is giving love to the child — not possessive love — not sentimental love - just behaving to the child in such a way the child feels you love him and approve of him. Home plays many parts in the life of the growing child, it is the natural source of affection; the place where he can live with the sense Of security; it educates him in all sorts qf ways, provides him with his opportunities of recreation, it affects his status in society. Children need affection. Of all the functions of the family that of providing an affectionate background for childhood and adolescence has never been more important than it is today. Child study has enabled us to see how necessary affection is in ensuring proper emotional development; and the stresses and strains of growing up in modern urban society have the effect of intensifying the yearning for parental regard. The childhood spent with heartless, indifferent or quarrelsome parents or in a broken home makes a child permanently embittered. Nothing can compensate for lack of parental affection. .When the home is a loveless one, the children are impersonal and even hostile. Approaching adolescence children become more independent of their parents. They are now more concerned with what other kids say or do. They go on loving their parents deeply underneath, but they don’t show it on the surface. They no longer want to be loved as a possession or as an appealing child. They are gaining a sense of dignity as individuals, and they like to be treated as such. They develop a stronger sense of responsibility about matters that they think are important. From their need to be less dependent on their parents, they turn more to trusted adults outside the family for ideas and knowledge. In adolescence aggressive feelings become much stronger. In this period, children will play an earnest game of war. There may be arguments, roughhousing and even real fights. Is gun-play good or bad for children? For many years educators emphasized its harmlessness, even when thoughtful parents expressed doubt about letting their children have pistols and other warlike toys. It was assumed that in the course of growing up children have a natural tendency to bring their aggressiveness more and more under control.
