Храм Василия Блаженного — православный храм, расположенный на Красной площади в
Москве. одна из самых известных российских
достопримечательностей; именно он является для большинства жителей планеты Земля
символом Москвы и России. Собор был построен в 1555-1561
годах как памятник победам в войне за покорение Казанского и Астраханского
царств. Во время войны в честь каждой крупной победы тут возводилась небольшая
деревянная церковь, а после окончания военных действий царь Иван Грозный
распорядился вместо деревянных церквей поставить каменные. Приглашенные царем
мастера Барма и Постник удивительным образом скомпоновали на одном основании
восемь столпообразных церквей, размещенных вокруг девятой, центральной церкви.
Каждая из церквей украшена нарядным куполом-луковкой. Центральный храм был
посвящен взятию Казани, что произошло в праздник Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы,
отсюда и название собора. До конца 17 века собор был самым высоким зданием
Москвы (60 метров). В 1588 году была сооружена десятая церковь над могилой
известного в Москве юродивого Василия Блаженного, с этого времени собор получает
второе и более популярное название — Собор Василия Блаженного. В 17 веке собор,
сохранявший до этого естественную «кирпичную» красно-белую окраску, был покрашен
в нынешние пестрые цвета. В интерьере собора сохранились девять уникальных
иконостасов , удивительные фрески, редкие предметы
